At our centre the rights and best interests of the child are paramount. All children and their diverse families are valued, welcomed and supported by our trained and respectful educators. Children and families from all cultures are welcomed and the centre recognises Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders as the traditional owner of country throughout Australia.

Educators at the centre recognise the importance of open, reciprocal communication both within the staff team and with families and children. Educators cultivate trusting and respectful relationships with families to better understand and care for the children. Families are encouraged to share any information pertaining to their child in order for staff to interpret and respond to the individual needs of each child. The information could involve family or cultural events, comfort items and individual interests, likes and dislikes. The centre aims to promote each child’s sense of belonging to the centre and the wider community.

The centre celebrates the role of parents and families as the child’s first teachers. The educators at the centre support the teaching of many life skills in a fun, safe and welcoming environment. These skills include fostering resilience, conflict resolution, a sense of fairness, listening skills and developing a child’s natural curiosity. The centre believes that all children are competent and capable learners. Through best practice care and education provided by educators, all children are given the opportunity to flourish and reach their full potential.

Learning experiences are created to engage children in successful learning which helps to develop and enhance self-confidence and independence in children. The educators engage children in both intentional and spontaneous teaching and endeavour to extend on individual children’s interests. Learning opportunities can happen anywhere are anytime, educators are encouraged to pursue these opportunities with the children.

The centre provides nutritious meals and snacks for all children and tries to accommodate any intolerances, allergies, cultural and developmental requirements. Children eat together at meals times and snacks and self-help skills are promoted.

The centre believes in life-long learning and will endeavour to provide learning opportunities for all children, staff, families and management.

The centre is committed to the inclusion of children with additional needs with full participation to the best of the centre’s ability. The centre is committed to sustainable practices and to the continuous improvement of our service to meet the needs of our children and families.
